Abstract

The current study aimed to design a scale for measuring neurotic perfectionism among mothers and explore its psychometric properties by calculating the factor structure of this scale in the Saudi environment using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. A sample of 302 mothers participated in the current study, and the application was conducted through an electronic questionnaire containing demographic data and the Neurotic Perfectionism Scale for Mothers. The results of the exploratory factor analysis revealed the presence of six factors of neurotic perfectionism among mothers, which were confirmed by the confirmatory factor analysis. The results showed a high scale reliability (0.92), and all 29 scale items were retained, which were highly suitable for measuring neurotic perfectionism among mothers, as proven by the current study. The study's results confirmed the quality of the scale's psychometric properties in the Saudi environment, allowing for its scientific use.
