Abstract

This study aimed to reveal the relationship between intellectual awareness and psychological flourishing among university students and to know the differences in both the level of psychological flourishing and intellectual awareness according to each of the variables (academic major, and study level). The study sample consisted of (350) students, randomly selected from different scientific disciplines, the intellectual awareness scale prepared by Al-Balawi and Suleiman (2019), the psychological prosperity scale prepared by Hassan and others (2022) were used. The results showed a positive relationship with statistical significance between intellectual awareness dimensions, psychological flourishing dimensions, and the total degree. There are statistically significant differences in intellectual awareness attributed to academic majors (scientific - humanitarian) in favor of humanitarian disciplines, and no statistically significant differences in psychological prosperity attributed to academic majors (scientific - health - humanitarian) were found. In contrast, statistically significant differences in intellectual awareness and psychological prosperity are attributed to the study level in favor of higher-level students. The study recommended the need to teach courses that would refine intellectual awareness skills, improve the psychological well-being of university students, and activate the role of intellectual awareness units in universities to immunize students intellectually
