Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between parental support and behavioral and emotional disorders among primary school female students in Jeddah. The study employed a descriptive correlational approach, utilizing two standardized scales to measure levels of parental support and behavioral-emotional disorders. The sample consisted of 60 randomly selected students from different primary schools in Jeddah. The results revealed a negative and statistically significant correlation between all dimensions of parental support (internal support, external support, and intimate relationships) and behavioral-emotional disorders. The findings indicated that increased parental emotional and social support significantly reduces behavioral and emotional problems among students. Additionally, paternal support showed a stronger correlation with reduced behavioral disorders compared to maternal support. The study recommends raising awareness about the importance of parental support in fostering children's mental well-being and suggests implementing parental guidance programs to enhance emotional and behavioral support for children in this critical developmental stage.
